Thistle & Bee Receives AWG Cares Award Grant

Recently, AWG Cares provided a grant request in the amount of $3,000 to Thistle & Bee in Memphis, TN. The grant request was submitted by Kim Frison, VMC Memphis employee.

This organization began in 2014 with a small group of volunteers from local churches. The two-year program was inspired by Thistle Farms located in Nashville, TN. Their mission is to make a difference in the lives of women who are exiting prostitution and sex trafficking throughout the midsouth. They began with a social justice enterprise centered around bees and beekeeping. The honey is harvested from the bees, and the product is sold at businesses in the community.
