Recently, AWG Cares provided a grant request in the amount of $3,000 to Least of These Food Pantry in Ozark, MO. The grant request was submitted by Jackie McIntosh, AWG Springfield employee.
The mission of Least of These is to alleviate food insecurity in Christian County by providing food, resources, and education to address the challenges of neighbors in need. Least of These is the only full service food pantry serving Christian County, one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Missouri. The growth in the number of people living in poverty has far outpaced the population growth, with over 10,000 people in Christian County who now live in poverty. Least of These started in 1998 as a community outreach project of a Nixa church, and has grown from serving 100 families that first year, to serving 11,036 families in 2022. Least of These continues to experience steady growth every year.
