Recently, AWG Cares provided a grant request in the amount of $3,000 to Kenosha Literacy Council (KLC) in Kenosha, WI. The grant request was submitted by Jennifer Lueck, AWG Great Lakes Division employee.

The Kenosha Literacy Council programs teach reading, writing and speaking skills to adults and families so they can achieve financial independence, good health and greater involvement in our community. A wide variety of programs are offered to help adults improve their skills so that they may better achieve goals specific to their needs. Improved literacy skills mean a better chance at a safe, productive life. KLC programs include small group classes and tutoring that focus on health literacy, financial literacy, citizenship, workplace literacy and more. With more than 200 volunteer tutors, 600 adults are helped each year. Jennifer’s brother is a tutor at Kenosha Literacy Council and he’s told her a lot about the work he does there and the impact the council has on the lives of the students.

Thank you, Jennifer, for donating to AWG Cares and submitting this grant request!
