Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings Receives Receives AWG Cares Award Grant

Recently, AWG Cares provided a grant award in the amount of $3,000 to Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings in Center, NE. The grant request was submitted by Cynthia Puntney, AWG Nebraska Division Support Center employee.

Coordinators Corey and Lisa Gerdes started Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings (BBB) in 2019 as a way to give back to the community in memory of their son, Brandon, who was killed in an auto accident in 2016. Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings provides a backpack of nutritional food to children facing food insecurity in the Pierce and Osmond schools each Friday. Included in the backpacks are non-perishable easy-to-prepare foods so the children can show up at school on Monday morning healthy and ready to learn.
